I possess a profound love for North Carolina and an even deeper passion for Chapel Hill. At seven-years-old, on a trip to visit the Morehead Planetarium, I told my mother that I would live here one day. At 11-years-old I decided to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Six years later, I fulfilled both dreams. Having wandered to play in Nags Head for a summer, expand my horizons in Santa Fe and further my education in Washington, DC, I have always returned home.

In 2000 I met a prominent Chapel Hill developer. Natural curiosity had me pestering him about the real estate world. I shared my desire to buy and renovate older homes, along with how much I enjoy evaluating a property and its potential. He suggested I get my real estate license and introduced me to Erika. Together we spent just under a decade selling custom homes, while she simultaneously built her business. I then naturally joined Erika & Co. as a Buyer Specialist.

Buying a home is an adventure and can be chock-full of the unexpected. My in-depth knowledge of our market minimizes the impact of the unforeseen. Additionally, I take the time to really get to know you – what is important to you. I help you clearly identify what you are looking for in both a home and lifestyle so that you land in a place you feel comfortable calling home. Along the way, I hope to share in some laughter and bring a bit-of-fun to our time together. Once you have selected your new home, I will navigate you through the purchasing process. I will put the master negotiation skills I have learned from years of working with Erika to work as your advocate.

I have been told that I love Chapel Hill more than my own children. And while that might be an exaggeration, most of us know what it feels like when we find “home”-and this is what I found in Chapel Hill. I want to you to experience the same. What should my clients know about me? For starters, I am a native Chapel Hillian, a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, and I absolutely love this town. Over the years I have lived in New York, Boston, and Milan, Italy. When the time came to raise my family, however, I did what so many people do every year: I chose Chapel Hill.

I have 15 years of real estate experience and I continue to love what I do because showing Chapel Hill to others is another opportunity to talk about a place I care about and with which I am deeply connected. Chapel Hill offers so much to so many. Our diverse neighborhoods, cultural events, public greenways and parks, our vibrant nightlife and restaurants, and, of course, the University all add to what makes this town such a pleasure to share with others.

My real estate career began in 1998 as part of the award-winning Southern Village sales team, led by Erika Buchholtz. For five years I had the opportunity to list and market some of the most beautiful custom homes in the Triangle. My Southern Village years were priceless experience in new construction sales and marketing practices. Of all the things I learned during this time, the most important was how to provide the very best customer service for every home buyer. These lessons were meant to last a lifetime.

In 2003, when Southern Village was complete, I began my general brokerage career, carrying with me the commitment to exceed my clients’ expectations for excellent service and expertise in our market. I believe responsiveness, careful listening, and attention-to-detail go a long way to making your home buying experience the best it can be. In 10 years of general brokerage, I consistently ranked in the top 1%-3% of Prudential Carolinas Realty-Berkshire Hathaway agents nationwide.

Family, work, and physical fitness are how I stay centered. The common denominator in all my pursuits is the need to be challenged, to be productive, and to seek personal bests in all aspects of my life. I hold a 3rd-degree black belt in taekwondo and have extensive experience teaching children and adults martial arts, including my own children, all three of whom are also black belts. When I am not selling houses I am with my family or in the gym. My children bring new joys and experiences daily. Martial arts and fitness training are all about pushing through to the next level. Real estate is challenging and ever-changing.

Home is at the center of our lives, and the search for and purchase of your home matters to me. Simply put, I love my work. I attribute my professional success to the fact that I know my market, I care about my clients, and I take my work very seriously.

Elena, a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and award-winning graphic designer, began her career in residential real estate in 2001. As Chief Catalyst & Ambassador of Buzz for Erika & Co, she is responsible for herding cats and dynamic firework displays. Her specialty is engaging her creativity and eye for stellar design to ensure Erika & Co listings steal the spotlight. From brochure creation to broker-to-broker marketing and beyond, Elena’s open mind and fresh ideas achieve great results for clients.

While getting a buyer’s attention is the all important first step, being on top of every detail is how we make big things happen. With a knack for conceiving systems that work and an aptitude for technology, Elena’s hand can be felt in every smooth step of the journey to sold.
